Barclays is offering free mobile security software to its 2million online banking customers, provided by internet security firm Kaspersky.

Barclays is offering free mobile security software to its 2million online banking customers, provided by internet security firm Kaspersky. Barclays customers can find further details at http://www.barclays.mobi/ and can take up this offer after logging into online banking and clicking on the ‘Kaspersky offer' link.
The software is designed to help mobile banking customers of whom the bank has 50,000 and it covers anti-virus, anti spam and anti theft protection.
In addition, Barclays.mobi customers will see a new site when accessing the internet through a web-enabled mobile phone, designed to make banking easier and more intuitive. Customers accessing online banking over a mobile phone should find it easier to view their account balance, statements at a glance, make transfer between accounts and make payments outside of the bank.
Sean Gilchrist, director for Electronic Banking, said: "Barclays has offered customers one of the best security packages of all online banks over the last two years and it's important that customers protect their mobile phones in the same way they do their computers from all threats, by downloading this new software."
