"As we begin our new fiscal year on Sept. 1, these appointments will help power Accenture’s growth and build on the success we’ve achieved over the past several years," said William D. Green, Accenture’s chief executive officer. "When you combine the expertise and fresh perspective that the newest members of our executive leadership bring to the table with the deep experience of our current leadership team, Accenture is poised for even greater success in the years ahead."

NEW YORK; Aug. 24, 2006 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced a number of appointments to its executive leadership team, effective Sept. 1, including new group chief executives for its Business Consulting and Outsourcing growth platforms and four of its five operating groups.

New leaders for two of the company’s three growth platforms, through which Accenture develops its knowledge capital; builds world-class skills and capabilities; and creates, acquires and manages key assets central to the development of solutions for clients, are:

* Kevin M. Campbell: Group Chief Executive–Outsourcing

In his new role, Mr. Campbell, 46, has ultimate responsibility for the development and delivery of Accenture’s application outsourcing, infrastructure outsourcing and business process outsourcing services and solutions. He most recently served as Senior Managing Director–Business Process Outsourcing, responsible for developing new areas of opportunity for Accenture’s BPO capabilities; he also had operational and client management responsibility for BPO. Mr. Campbell rejoined Accenture in 2005 from Hewitt Associates, where he was market strategy and development leader of Hewitt’s HR outsourcing business. Mr. Campbell was previously with Accenture from 1982 until 1999. He succeeds Joellin Comerford, who will work closely with Mr. Campbell through the transition process. Additionally, Ms. Comerford will take on strategic assignments in the execution of Accenture’s strategic growth agenda as well as work directly on Accenture’s largest and most complex assignments.

* Mark Foster: Group Chief Executive–Business Consulting & Integrated Markets

Mr. Foster, 46, has overall responsibility for the development of Accenture’s business consulting capabilities, overseeing the company’s Customer Relationship Management, Finance & Performance Management, Human Performance, Strategy and Supply Chain Management service lines. Additionally, he will have oversight of all Accenture industry programs as well as its High Performance Business Integration initiative, through which Accenture provides clients a unique blend of business capabilities across its three growth platforms – Business Consulting, Systems Integration and Technology, and Outsourcing. Mr. Foster most recently served as Group Chief Executive–Products, a position he held since 2002. Prior to that time he held other leadership roles in the Products operating group, including managing partner of the Products-Europe operating unit; global managing partner for the Automotive, Industrial and Travel & Transportation industry groups; and head of the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Products practice in Europe. Mr. Foster joined Accenture in 1983 and became a partner in 1994. He succeeds R. Timothy Breene, who previously led the Business Consulting growth platform and will continue to lead the company’s Growth & Strategy and Corporate Development functions.

The new leaders of four of the company’s five operating groups, which comprise 17 industry groups serving clients in more than 30 industries, are:

* Gianfranco Casati: Group Chief Executive–Products

Mr. Casati, 46, has been appointed group chief executive of the Products operating group, which serves clients in the airline, automotive, consumer goods and services, freight and logistics, health & life sciences, industrial equipment, rail, retail and travel services industries. He most recently served as managing director of the Products operating group’s Europe operating unit and, at the same time, as Accenture’s country managing director for Italy and chairman of Accenture’s geographic council in the IGEM (Italy, Greece, emerging markets) region, with supervisory responsibility for 10 countries. Mr. Casati joined Accenture in 1984 and became a partner in 1994. He succeeds Mark Foster, who has been appointed Group Chief Executive–Business Consulting & Integrated Markets.

* Martin I. Cole: Group Chief Executive–Communications & High Tech

Mr. Cole, 50, has been appointed group chief executive of the Communications & High Tech operating group, which serves clients in the communications, electronics, high technology, media and entertainment industries. He previously served as Group Chief Executive–Government, a position he held since September 2004. Prior to that he was managing partner of the company’s Outsourcing & Infrastructure Delivery group, where he led the development and oversaw the execution of Accenture’s transformational outsourcing strategy. Mr. Cole joined Accenture in 1980 and became a partner in 1989. He succeeds Diego Visconti, who has been named to the position of International Chairman of Accenture.

* Lisa M. Mascolo: Group Chief Executive–Government

Ms. Mascolo, 46, has been appointed group chief executive of the Government operating group, with overall responsibility for Accenture’s services to governments and other public-sector entities in the defense, education, public health, human services, immigration, justice and public safety, revenue and postal sectors. She previously served as managing director of Accenture’s US Government operating unit, where she led the company’s Federal and State & Local business, with more than 4,000 professionals, $1.5 billion in revenue and 100 client organizations. Ms. Mascolo also served as managing partner of Accenture’s US Federal Government business and as managing partner of Accenture’s US Government outsourcing work with federal, state and local governments. Ms. Mascolo joined Accenture in 1982 and became a partner in 1996. She succeeds Martin I. Cole, who has been appointed Group Chief Executive–Communications & High Tech.

* Sander van ’t Noordende: Group Chief Executive–Resources

Mr. van ’t Noordende, 43, has been appointed group chief executive of the Resources operating group, which serves clients in the utilities, chemicals, energy (oil and gas), forest products and metals and mining industries. He previously led the Resources operating group in Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, as well as in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Mr. van ’t Noordende joined Accenture in 1987 and was promoted to partner in 1999. He succeeds David Thomlinson, who has been appointed managing director of Accenture’s UK/I geographic unit, responsible for the company’s business in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In addition, R. Timothy Breene will continue to lead the company’s Growth & Strategy and Corporate Development functions, continuing on Accenture’s executive leadership team under the new title of Chief Strategy & Corporate Development Officer. Mr. Breene, 57, most recently served in the dual capacity of Strategy & Corporate Development Officer and Group Chief Executive—Business Consulting. He previously served Accenture as Managing Partner—Global Service Lines and Managing Partner—Strategic Services. Mr. Breene joined Accenture in 1995.

"These new assignments will further strengthen our organization and, in turn, our ability to help clients achieve even higher performance," said Mr. Green. "As we expand the breadth and depth of our business by further penetrating or entering new geographies, acquiring new businesses and new skills, and adding to our reputation as innovators in professional services, we look to our executive leadership to help us seize upon new opportunities and strengthen our capabilities."

Earlier this week, the company announced that Pamela J. Craig, senior vice president–Finance, will become chief financial officer, effective Oct. 31, 2006. She will succeed Michael G. McGrath, who will remain chief financial officer until Oct. 31, 2006 when he will assume the role of International Chairman.

As International Chairmen, Mr. McGrath and Mr. Visconti will take on newly defined and expanded roles with Accenture in which they will represent the company at the highest level to clients, governments and the public across the globe. As part of the company’s executive leadership team, they will work closely with CEO William Green and the company’s leaders on an agenda that includes direct enhancement of shareholder value and providing the highest levels of quality and satisfaction for Accenture clients.
