Under terms of the agreement, CSC will provide scientific, engineering, communications outreach, information technology (IT) and policy support services to assist the newly established security division. Specific responsibilities include planning and training, development and distribution of outreach materials, contaminant research, analytical method development, laboratory network management, engineering support, and security and emergency response improvements at water and wastewater facilities. In addition, CSC will help improve procedures and performance measures for assessing and mitigating the vulnerability of the nation's water infrastructure.

Computer Sciences Corporation has won a contract to provide comprehensive mission support services to the new Water Security Division within the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Water.
The division was established to address water security and infrastructure protection issues in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks. CSC estimates the value of the contract, which has one base year and four one-year options, to be approximately $86 million if all options are exercised.
