Health insurer Cigna has tapped IBM to maintain and operate the computing infrastructure for its Connecticut General Life subsidiary, Cigna disclosed in a regulatory filing late Wednesday.
Under a seven-year deal, IBM will run Connecticut General's voice and data networks, contact center applications, enterprise content management software, and also help the insurer plot IT strategy. The contract is worth about $724 million, Cigna said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
