Accenture wins contract from Australian state government
SYDNEY -- The New South Wales (NSW) Department of Education and Communities (DEC) has selected Accenture as the Transformation Service Provider for the NSW DEC Learning Management and Business Reform (LMBR) program. The 18-month contract is valued at $109 million.
Accenture will draw upon its education and human services transformation, consulting solutions and technology capabilities to help with the implementation of an integrated finance, procurement and human resources system across the Department’s 90,000-strong employee network. Accenture also will implement new and improved student administration systems for schools as well as for the Technical and Further Education (TAFE) Institutes.
The LMBR program will help to transform the Department’s operations by standardizing and streamlining business processes across the organization, which coordinates all public education and training services in NSW. Through this project, the NSW DEC will provide teachers with better access to learning and teaching resources, offer greater support through improved administration processes and, ultimately, improve access, flexibility and insight into students’ information and learning outcomes.
“Accenture is proud to have been selected as the transformation service provider for such an important program within the Australian education sector,” said Catherine Garner, senior executive who leads Accenture’s education business in Australia. “Not only will it provide teachers with more usable and timely information, it will streamline administration processes so educators have more time to teach, ultimately delivering a higher quality of education.”
In addition to the benefits to teachers, the LMBR program will provide wide-ranging opportunities to the entire NSW education community. For example, students will be able to monitor individual learning objectives, while parents will be better connected to the school community and able to view their child’s learning outcomes.
For administrators, the LMBR program will deliver more efficient administrative processes to enable a greater focus on supporting students and teachers, while industry is expected to benefit from enhanced engagement with NSW DEC. The Department selected Accenture due to the company’s proven experience in large-scale transformations, end-to-end capabilities and delivery excellence.
