First Dedicated Accenture Innovation Centre in Ireland to Focus on Development of Advanced Analytics Solutions, Creating 100 High-Skilled Jobs

DUBLIN; Nov. 30, 2010:Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced plans to open a research, development and innovation centre in Dublin, Ireland, to develop predictive analytics solutions for clients worldwide. Predictive analytics applies advanced statistical modelling techniques to internal and external data sources to generate deeper insights that help businesses and governments drive better outcomes.
The Accenture Analytics Innovation Centre (AAIC) is expected to create 100 new highly-skilled jobs over the next four years adding to Accenture’s 1,300 people in Ireland today. The Centre is backed by the Investment & Development Agency (IDA) Ireland and will form part of a wider Accenture global network of innovation centres dedicated to the demonstration, research & development and delivery of predictive analytics.
“Today’s announcement marks another milestone in the ongoing development of Accenture in Ireland,” said Mark Ryan, country managing director of Accenture in Ireland. “The Centre is the first Accenture innovation centre of its kind to be located in Ireland and is designed to help accelerate the development, delivery and commercialization of innovative predictive analytics solutions employing a mixture of technology experts and management scientists. Many of the 100 new roles created will be focussed specifically on research and development and we are currently recruiting both graduates and experienced hires with analytical and statistics experience ranging from PhD level to graduate level.”
The Dublin centre will focus on the innovative development of sophisticated techniques in fraud analytics to address many of the key business challenges facing Accenture’s clients today. Over time the Centre will expand its capabilities to demonstrate, develop and deliver wider cross-functional and cross-industry predictive analytics services. The Centre will also be a global showcase for Accenture analytical capabilities to clients who will visit from around the world. The technologies developed locally will be marketed globally to Accenture clients.
The global Accenture Innovation Centre network supports activities related to delivering business insight innovations, both descriptive and predictive analytics, to clients across multiple industries and business functions. Each Accenture Innovation Centre focused on business analytics is designed and equipped to address a wide range of issues that companies may be facing as they seek to glean deeper insights from data and to improve decision-making processes. Other centres in the analytics network are located in Bangalore, Chicago, Milan, Mumbai, New Delhi and San Jose, California, with others across the world planned.

The business analytics services market, including advanced analytics and other related sources is expected to continue to grow, estimated by IDC to exceed $48billion globally by 2013.
