Banksys and BCC become Atos Worldline. Consolidated position for the European leader in payment services
Banksys and BCC will operate under one single name: Atos Worldline.

Paris/Bruxelles, As of 1 June 2007

During the year 2006, Atos Origin, through its subsidiary Atos Worldline, acquired Banksys and BCC. This merger came into effect on 7 December 2006. The objective of the operation was to create a European leader in payment services with specializations in the fields of payment issuing and acquiring, as well as Customer Relationship Management and eServices. The acquisition of Banksys and BCC by Atos Origin as well as their merger enables the combined teams to enhance efficiency and performance for their customers, through innovation in the field of end-to-end transactions.

According to Vincent Roland, who is to become Executive Vice President of Atos Worldline, "This merger constitutes an important step, both for Banksys and BCC, as well as our respective clients. In becoming Atos Wordline, we are uniting our strengths and knowledge, whilst benefiting from the solid experience of a top-ranking global group, bringing added value to our services."

Banksys was founded in 1989, as the result of the merger of the Mister Cash and Bancontact networks. Its principal mission is the authorization, security and guarantee of electronic payments in Belgium. Alongside its processing activities, Banksys capitalizes on its know-how for the development of terminals and payment applications, and also operates a wide range of services, including CardStop, through an acceptance network of more than 100,000 merchants.

Bank Card Company (BCC) affiliates merchants to accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, V PAY and Visa Electron. To meet the needs of the cardholders BCC is continually diversifying its acceptance network of 55,000 active merchants. Moreover BCC promotes the use of credit cards in Belgium through a wide range of marketing tools.

Both Banksys and BCC brands will continue to be used for payment terminals, security development and acquiring activities.

"The merger of Banksys and BCC and their integration into Atos Worldline reinforces our position as a European key player in electronic payment and is great news for all our businesses. The combination of our leading positions will create a truly global business, for the benefit of all our customers" said Didier Dhennin, Chief Executive Officer of Atos Worldline.
