Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has appointed Matt Peers as chief information officer (CIO). He joins Deloitte from The Carphone Warehouse where he was managing director of IT.
Peers will lead a department of 280 IT professionals within Deloitte. He was previously responsible for IT at Carphone Warehouse, where his role included multichannel retailing across nine countries and providing services to more than 2,400 retail stores and 20,000 users in eight languages. He joined Carphone Warehouse in 2000 from Cable and Wireless.
Peers says: “I am looking forward to bringing my in-depth retail knowledge and experience from Carphone Warehouse to Deloitte. In particular, the ability to deliver IT projects quickly and on time and a relentless desire to get great value for money.”

Peers has a degree in accounting and trained as a qualified accountant at Arthur Andersen.
