Professional services firm Deloitte Australia has acquired design house Aqua Media.
For the past ten years Aqua’s team has managed the firm’s design, branding and multimedia solutions, encompassing collateral, proposals and events literature, as well as increasingly sophisticated advertising and multimedia work including video and online design.
The acquisition covers Aqua’s 15 staff based in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and includes its creative management software tool which has been a key factor in Aqua’s business success over recent years, managing the demands of high transactions, cost approvals and detailed reporting for Deloitte and its other clients.
David Redhill, Deloitte’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Partner who has worked for many years with Aqua, describes the acquisition as a significant strategic move which will further bolster the firm’s ability to deliver differentiated products, creative solutions and a distinctive brand experience.
“Aqua’s integral role in helping to build our brand and advertising over the last decade has proved to be immensely valuable as we seek to differentiate ourselves from our competitors.
“In a rapidly changing world where professional services firms are under pressure to reduce margin and go offshore, our ability to provide unique solutions to complex problems both in person and online remains critical.

“The acquisition, though small in relation to some of our other M&A activity of recent years, is significant in the talent and capability it beds down within the Australian firm, and in the signal it sends to clients and the market,” he added.
The move strengthens the professional services firm’s claim to be the only Big Four partnership with a powerful, fully-equipped in-house creative capability, focused on providing innovatively designed advisory solutions to its clients and stakeholders, in addition to its traditional compliance services.
